How to register

At the OU, you can register for a degree, a foundation degree, a diploma of higher education, a certificate of higher education or a module to study as a standalone course.

Before you register

Read the qualification or course description. Take some time to read the prospectus to discover what studying with the OU means. You can browse the prospectus to find more detailed information about our selection of qualifications and courses before registering.

When to apply

Register in good time. Every module has a deadline for registration, but you’ll need to allow extra time if you:

  • have additional requirements
  • are applying for a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
  • are applying for credit transfer
  • are applying for a Part-Time Tuition Fee Loan
  • are applying for financial support

If you’re registering on a module as a standalone course, find your module and check the module description for the ‘registration close’.
