Keeping in touch

After your ceremony is over, we'd love to keep in touch with you through The Open University Alumni Association. In fact you may well have already met them at your ceremony.
The Alumni Association was formed in 1998 to enable members of the wider OU community to keep in touch with each other, keep up-to-date with what is happening at the University and still be a part of the world's most vibrant learning community.
Every OU graduate and qualification holder is automatically a lifelong member. There is no membership fee to worry about.
Alumni are kept in touch with the OU through a variety of means:

  • The alumni website is a dynamic environment enabling you to keep in touch with OU developments, news, events, faculty updates, fundraising opportunities, and the latest from your Alumni Association. We have recently launched a package of member benefits, giving discounts on a range of products including hotel accommodation, car hire, outdoor clothing and chocolate. Visit the benefits page to find out more
  • A regular free magazine, full of news and thought-provoking articles
  • A monthly enewsletter to all those for whom we have an up-to-date email address, giving a regular update on news, courses and events
  • A programme of events designed to stimulate your mind and broaden your knowledge
  • Open Eye Bulletin, which appears in The Independent newspaper on the first Tuesday of each month, and features a column from the Vice-Chancellor
