It's been a while since I did any OU courses, but have decided to do some maths and statistics - but I'm finding that getting the information in the new look website extremely frustrating. I really don't find the new website user friendly at all! Is there anyone else who feels like this? I did eventually get most of what I was looking for in the prospectus - which I eventually found . . .
I much preferred it when the course descriptions also indicated which qualifications it could count towards - and the qualifaction descriptions listed the courses required - and the prices were indicated. Not having all relevant course or qualifiaction data available on the webpage does not make a lot of sense to me.
I also can't find if the maths course I did in 2005 (MU120) is valid for any of the qualifications I hope to do - any ideas on where I can find this info?
Anne

If you are looking for study pathway information it is now found in the faculty areas - try MATHS-STATS Undergraduate mathematics and statistics portal page for all your Maths and Stats questions.
One of the annoying things right now is that the OU is changing a lot of their degrees and the information won't be posted until March. So right now if you go and look at the qualification description, through the 'Study at the OU link' at the top right hand side link, there is little to no information about it available until after 27th March. Since I'm already registered for B36 here's the link for B36 BA/BSc (Honours) Mathematics and Statistics qualification description that has the current degree information.
Looks like if you know the number of your qualification you can just change it from B36 to the desired number at the end of the link address above when in the address bar of your browser to access the qualification you desire. Of course it is the current information that will presumably be out of date in a month’s time. If you aren't already registered for a qualification it would be best to leave it until after 27th March when the new information becomes available.
Thanks Marion - I actually got the information I was looking for (most of it anyway) by registering for B36! Not sure that I'll actually do a degree - but who knows :)
Hi Anne
Sorry to hear you're having difficulty locating the information you need. It might be best to call student services on 0845 300 60 90 and they can tell you more about the courses and how your earlier maths course will link to your current studies.
