John Lewis is mentioned in Alan's podcast and there's a programme on BBC2 tonight about the household name department stores as it tackles tougher competition and the recession. The programme explores whether a business model developed in the 1920s can survive the commercial turmoil of the 21st century, and you can check it out here.
