Equipment loans

IT equipment loans, such as laptops and video cameras, are available to OU staff (based on campus or living locally), local Associate Lecturers and local Open University postgraduate students who are registered with the Library and are based on campus or near Milton Keynes. Please note that all the equipment loans are now available for up to a two week period.

All equipment loans are subject to these terms and conditions.

IT equipment can only be borrowed during staffed opening hours (Monday - Friday 9am-5pm). IT equipment cannot be pre-booked.

Cassette recorder For listening to the audio cassettes which are part of the Library's collection of Open University course materials.
Digital video camera recorder The Sony handycam records to mini-DV tapes, up to an hour per tape.
Edirol digital audio recorder Record interviews, meetings or podcasts, up to an hour long on this digital audio recorder.
Gameboy advance This is a simple handheld games console, now superseded by the Nintendo DS. A selection of games available for this console.
Garmin eTrex GPS personal navigator The Garmin eTrex is a personal navigator for walkers or cyclists.
iPad These devices have wi fi accessibility and use standard apps.
IPod touch 8GB This handheld device can be used to play videos and audio files, browse the internet and uses the same apps as the iPhone.
IPod video 30GB The iPod video is one of Apple's MP3 players, capable of playing music, audiobooks and podcasts, as well as video files.
IPod video 60GB The iPod video is one of Apple's MP3 players, capable of playing music, audiobooks and podcasts, as well as video files.
JVC Everio hard disk camcorder The JVC Everio camcorder is a video camera which records straight to a hard disk, meaning you can record more than you would be able to on a tape.
Nintendo DS Lite The Nintendo DS is a handheld games console with dual touch screens. A selection of games is available for this console.
Nintendo Wii Games are played on this console using gesture-based controllers, making it easier to play with than older game consoles.
Nintendo Wii fit This balance board is an accessory for a number of games for the Wii game console.
Nintendo game cube The Game Cube is a console for playing video games which can be connected to your TV. A selection of games is available.
Sony PlayStation Portable The PSP is a popular handheld games console . A selection of games is available for this console.
Sony VCT-R640 Tripod The tripod may be borrowed with any of our video cameras to provide greater stability when filming.
Sony ebook reader The Sony ebook Reader is a portable device with an e-ink screen which has no backlighting and less flicker than a computer screen.
Zoom H4 digital audio recorder Record interviews, meetings or podcasts, up to an hour long on this digital audio recorder.
