What is the SCONUL Access Scheme and how do I join?

For most modules, the wide range of online information resources available via this website will be sufficient. However, Open University students and staff sometimes need to use other libraries to borrow books, to use collections for reference, or as a quiet place to work or study.

SCONUL Access allows current staff and students registered on modules of more than 15 points to borrow from permitted printed and audio-visual loan collections within participating libraries in their locality. There is no restriction on the number of libraries that undergraduates and taught masters students can join.

To find out whether you can use your local academic library through SCONUL Access and to join the scheme, go to the Libraries near you page.
