Professional Development (EPD)

Part of IET’s learning & teaching remit is to improve curriculum and pedagogical effectiveness, and this includes providing educational and professional development activities for staff members in a way that is engaging and effective.  For example collaboration across units has resulted in the highly successful and award winning staff-orientated ‘Learn About’ Guides, ‘Learn About’ Fairs and the printed ‘Learning & Teaching Guides’.

IET staff members are closely involved in the development of Cloudworks which is an online ‘place to share, find and discuss learning and teaching ideas and experiences’.  For more information about Cloudworks, please visit the site at http://cloudworks.ac.uk

These can be viewed by OU staff directly on the EPD website, which is a searchable catalogue of all the Open University's educational and professional development activities available for OU staff: Associate Lecturers, staff based at Walton Hall and the Regions/Nations.

Staff based at Walton Hall and in the regions can book a place via Staff-LMS.  For further details please contact iet-epd@open.ac.uk.

The Institute also runs a number of post graduate award bearing modules which can viewed on the Study with us section.
