University level courses and qualifications

If you’d like to study at university level – even if you don’t have any qualifications – you’re unlikely to find a better combination of accessibility, choice, flexibility, support and high quality learning materials anywhere else in the world.
That’s why The Open University continues to be a world leader in distance and part time learning. See What makes us different.

Wide choice

What you choose to study will depend on your interests and career objectives. Most of our courses and Bachelor and Master degrees can be studied from anywhere in Europe.

  • Over 570 Open University courses can count towards more than 200 Bachelor and Master degrees. With specially designed introductory courses, you can gradually build towards your first university-level qualification, such as a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor.
  • If you have a Bachelor, there are Master degree opportunities too.
  • If you don’t want to work towards a qualification, you can study individual courses for personal or professional reasons.

Choosing the right one

With so many courses on offer, it's not easy to find the best one for you. On this site we've grouped our courses in two ways.

  1. By subject area. See below.
  2. By career or business needs. Go to Personal development.

For courses that are proving popular right across Europe, go to Popular courses.
