Studying with The Open University in Belgium
The UK-based Open University has pioneered and popularised supported distance learning throughout the world. We are a not-for-profit university and the largest in the UK. All courses are taught in English.
Our flexible distance learning means you can study in Belgium, in your own time, without giving up work or family commitments. We offer short courses taking no more than 30 hours, to bachelors degrees, postgraduate diplomas, MBAs and masters programmes. The most popular subjects amongst our 450 students in Belgium are Business, Psychology, IT and Maths. But with over 570 courses there are plenty to choose from.
Although we're a distance learning University, there are a number of opportunities to engage with other students. we hold a Beginning of Year meeting to which all new students are invited where we explain what you can expect as you begin your studies with The OU. We also hold regular Study Skills sessions to support you in your studies. Social events are organised by Valerie Scott, the Country Co-ordinator for Belgium, and other events are organised by the Belgium branch of the OU Students Association which allows students and graduates to get together and network.
