Profile

After working in the steel industry for about 6 years I trained as a teacher, and worked in comprehensive schools for 18 years as a languages teacher. After leaving full-time teaching in 2000 to pursue other interests, I taught French at undergraduate level at Nottingham University and for the OU, and joined the OU flexible ITE programme as a MFL tutor. From there I went on to become a regional PGCE staff tutor in Nottingham, and also took on some generic staff tutor duties in region 05. From October 2008 I was the Deputy Director ITE, while retaining my region 05 PGCE staff tutor and my subject tutor roles. In February 2011 I transferred from region 05 to become a central academic, and I am currently the PGCE MFL subject leader - working full-time on the OU PGCE programme.I am also the MFL external examiner for the University of Bedfordshire's PGCE programme.
