Funding

There are a number of ways the OU/UNISON partnership can help you meet the costs of your study. From grants and bursaries to discounts and study leave, these pages are designed to take you through all the options available to you.
Access to Success
Q: Do you live in England?
Q: Do you have an annual household income of less than £25,000
Q: Are you looking for an affordable and low risk route to higher education?
If you answered yes to these questions, are new to the OU and have not already got a university-level qualification you could be eligible to apply for an Access to Success Route place.
Help from employers
Many employers are prepared to support students in their studies by contributing to course fees, negotiating study leave or setting up bursary schemes to help them meet costs.
Help from the OU
The OU is keen to help you finance your studies and offers a range of financial support systems to ensure higher education is a realistic option for everyone. For UNISON members this includes 10% discounts on a number of OU modules, help with study related costs and the possibility of spreading study costs with an OU Student Budget Account.
Help from UNISON
UNISON is dedicated to helping members fund their studies with the OU. We have a bursary scheme for students studying 60-point OU courses and can offer support in funding study-related books.
