Dr Daniel Weinbren's book 'The Oddfellows, 1810-2010' has recently been published through Carnegie Publishing.

The book studies this society and indicates the strengths of fraternity over 200 years and how it reinforced roles within families. The book includes many photographs and the oral evidence of over fifty members of this worldwide frateral order. Dan Weinbren argues that Society offered reciprocity as a sometimes complementary, sometimes transgressive, ordering of society to that of the market economy. In so doing, it created structures for loyalty and developed distinctive ideas about space, temporality and sociability.
