CCIG Families and Relationships Research Programme in collaboration with London South Bank University

Please put this date in your diaries now, as we can confirm that we will have a keynote presentation from Professor Annette Lareau as the centre piece of a day’s events. I am sure many of you will be familiar with her work, which centres on social stratification, family and education, ethnographic methods and childhood. Her recent books include:

Unequal Childhoods: Class, Race and Family Life , Social Class: How Does it Work? (with Dalton Conley) Home Advantage: Social Class and Parental Intervention in Elementary Education and Education Research On Trial: The Search for Rigor and the Promotion of Randomized Studies by Pamela B. Walters, Annette Lareau, and Sheri Ranis

Morning workshop with Professor Lareau for doctoral students and early career researchers is being organised by Alice Bennion at the OU and Yvonne Roberts at LSBU. It will be by invitation only, but if you have students or colleagues who would like to participate in this event, please contact Alice as soon as possible on alicebennion@hotmail.co.uk
