Jill Korbin, Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University, and Andrea Doucet, Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Carleton University, will each be giving keynote lectures within CCIG Forum 15.
Jill Korbin has published extensively on culture and child maltreatment, on women incarcerated for fatal child maltreatment, on cross-cultural childrearing and child maltreatment, on health, mental health and child rearing among Ohio's Amish population, and on the impact of neighborhood factors on child maltreatment and child well-being.
Andrea Doucet’s research includes work on gender and the sociology of personal life, masculinities, feminist approaches to methodology and epistemology, reflexivity and qualitative research processes, gender and intergenerational change, fathering and mothering, theories of subjectivity, space and embodiment, and the links between sociology and literature.
