The International management practice, education and learning (IMPEL) research theme is extending existing research capabilities in international management and enabling the transfer of findings into the School’s teaching and learning materials. IMPEL involves two distinct, yet interacting, strands of activity in the areas of education and learning and international management practice. The international management practice strand features a broad range of research from across the sub-discipline areas of management, examining the travel of management ideas and practices across national borders. The education and learning strand involves research into management learning and pedagogy in an international context, building on the work of the Practice Based Professional Learning CETL. The outputs from these research strands support us in taking learning into the heart of management practice and in making learning relevant to those in diverse international and cultural contexts.
