Jenny joined the OU in 1979 to take her Ph D in the Social Psychology of Graduate Careers. Previously she worked in accounts, personnel and professional sport. She has worked at the OU ever since except for two short periods, one at UMIST and one in market research. Since joining OUBS in 1989 she has been acting director of the Ph D programme, head of the Management Learning Research Unit, MBA Programme Director and head of the Centre for Human Resource and Change Management. She has designed and led generalist courses for the first year of the MBA as well as in research methods and performance measurement. She retires in 2012.

Jenny has researched and published in the areas of career development, educational evaluation, co-operative working and the management of design. Current interests: management development, students' approaches to learning and career development in the leisure industries, regular surveys of MBA students’ residential school experiences.
Jenny has been on accreditation and validation panels for various other universities and for AMBA and the QAA.
