The Centre for Law situated in the OU Business School offers its Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB degree) in collaboration with The College of Law. The College is the oldest and largest UK provider of postgraduate training to the legal profession and is the first choice of study for more than 5,300 students every year. Offering a range of academic, vocational and professional courses, the College has trained over half the practising lawyers in England and Wales.
Through this partnership between two institutions of international standing, the course content that makes up the core courses of the LLB degree is written by the College of Law’s expert team of authors, all of whom are legally qualified and have experience of working in practice. This course content is then delivered to students using the Open University’s expertise in part-time distance learning and its skilled team of tutors. As a direct result of this partnership The Open University’s LLB degree has quickly established itself as the UK’s most popular undergraduate taught law degree.
