Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning is published three times a year in April, August and December by The Open University. Prior to 2010, the journal was produced by Staffordshire University.

Annual subscriptions run from January to December. Subscriptions taken out at any point in a given year will, therefore, cover the three editions for the volume associated with that year, plus any special issues produced. Subscribing to online content will automatically provide access to all editions and volumes of the journal.
