Leaving a gift in your Will is a generous and enduring way to help ensure that our belief in education for all continues into the future
Many people express their appreciation of The Open University by leaving a legacy in their Will. It’s easy to do and doesn’t cost you anything during your lifetime. After you have remembered your loved ones, pledging a gift to The Open University allows you to pass on the gift of education to others.
Whether you are making or updating your Will your solicitor will be able to help. You can leave a gift in your Will in two main ways:
• A Pecuniary Legacy – leaving a specified amount (e.g. I shall give £1,000 to The Open University)
• A Residuary Legacy – leave all, or a percentage of, your estate (e.g. I shall give 10% of my estate to The Open University)
View our suggested wording for remembering the OU in your Will. Do get in touch if you are interested in supporting us this way. Our Legacy Manager, Karen Hart, will be happy to discuss how your gift could help, and invite you to discover first-hand the positive impact legacies make to our work. You can call Karen on +44 (0) 1908 659141 or email her.
Simply letting us know if you have remembered, or intend to remember, the OU in your Will lets us look to the future with greater confidence. It’s also wonderful to be able to thank you for thinking of us in this way.
